Sinks get a lot of action. They are one household item you use everyday and you may look down thinking, “how do I make it like new without using harsh chemicals?” I have the perfect solutions to make those sinks shine again.
Porcelain sinks:
PROBLEM: Porcelain farmhouse sinks are charming but their downside is that they stain easily.
SOLUTION:
- Rinse out sink with water
- In the sink mix equal parts of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide into a paste.
- Using a cloth or sponge, spread mixture over the entire surface of the sink and leave it for 20 minutes.
- After you have let the mixture sit then begin rinsing out the sink throughly.
- Once you have rinsed the sink out then buff it with a dry cloth.
Stainless Steel Sink
PROBLEM: I don’t know if you’ve noticed yet but stainless steel isn’t always stainless.
SOLUTION:
- Rinse sink out with water
- mix 2 tablespoons of sea salt with 1/2 cup baking soda.
- Add 1/2 cup of hydrogen peroxide to the mixture.
- Use a cloth or sponge to cover the entire sink with the mixture and leave it for 5-10 minutes.
- Throughly rinse out sink and buff dry with a lint free cloth.
TIP TO MAKE YOUR STAINLESS STEEL SINK SHINE:
- Take a very small amount of olive oil and apply it to a cloth.
- Using the oiled cloth wipe down the entire sink including the fixtures.
- Using a spay bottle, spray warm water onto the sink and the buff dry with a lint free cloth.
Here’s a few tips for today. Until next time keep up the good fight against dirt and grime.
